Are you a patient, next of kin, patient representative or just a citizen and genuinely interested in patient improvements?   

As a patient, next of kin or a supporter you can become a member of Patient in Focus and be involved in projects and participate in training and other patient involvement benefits.  Anyone, regardless of age, sex or nationality, whose annual membership fee has been paid and collected, can join. 

We work across diseases and are not limited to specific diseases or disabilities.

Why become a member?

Vores medlemmer er kernen i vores arbejde. Bliv medlem, og slut dig til en voksende gruppe mennesker, der spiller en rolle i alt, hvad vi gør – og som er fast besluttet på at sikre, at ingen alene står over for en kronisk lidelse. Sammen presser vi på forandring, deler vores oplevelser og tilbyder uddannelse til patienter og fagfolk.

Medlemskab kan erhverves af enkeltpersoner (herunder patienter, pårørende og patientrepræsentanter). Som medlem af Patient in Focus får du en række fordele; bl.a. tilbud om deltagelse i kurser og konferencer, aktiv patientinddragelse og indflydelse på Patient in Focus’ politik. Derudover får du mulighed for at møde en masse spændende mennesker, deltage i fælleskabet og engagere dig i kampen for at forbedre forholdene for patienter i Danmark.


Annual membership provides aspects unavailable to non-members.

  • Discounted rates to attend our Annual Conference allowing you to hear from world experts in person.
  • Discounted rates to attend training and educational initiatives and master in your own life. 
  • Receive membership news.
  • Benefit from access to member areas on the website.

Patient in Focus may send you invitations to take part in surveys or focus groups to ask for your help to shape our work.  You may opt out of these membership communications at any time, although they form part of your membership benefits.

Who can join?
Membership can be acquired by individuals (patients, next of kin and patient representatives).  

The rights of a member are personal and cannot be transferred or assigned. Membership rights shall cease on a member's death or an individual ceasing to be a member.

Why is my application being refused?

Patient in Focus may at its absolute discretion refuse the application of an individual to become a member without having to give any reason for its decision. An applicant whose membership application is refused has the right to appeal to   The Danish Consumer Complaints Board against the refusal.  

What is expected of me as a member?
Membership terms and conditions set out your rights and obligations as a member of Patient in Focus. It is entirely up to you to decide how much time and energy you put into your membership. Some members might participate in every activity, some in a few and some members are just members to support the mission of Patient in Focus.

How old do I have to be, to be a member?
Anyone can become a member of Patient in Focus. All from primary school students to pensioners. We are disease neutral, so all diagnoses and disabilities are welcome.

How much does it cost? 
A private membership costs EUR 40 a year. You pay for a calendar year. No matter when you start your membership of the year, you pay dues again the same month the following year.

It is only possible to become a member by paying an annual membership.

Patient in Focus reserves the right to cancel or exclude a membership that, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, discourages or harms our members, association or mission.

How can I pay my membership fee?
Membership fees are paid via our website. Once you have chosen payment options you are presented with the following options:

You can choose to set up automatic payments. All membership fees are non-refundable once payment has been received.

What happens if I don´t pay my membership fee?
If a membership fee has not been paid you lose all member benefits and rights. You will not be able to receive information or participate in activities or events. If your membership lapses, we will contact you for a short time to ask whether you would like to rejoin our membership or hear from us about other ways that you can support our work.

If you wish to change your address, email or phone number you may do so in the member's area.Please be aware that you are responsible for updating or changing your contact information.
